Service Description

INFACT Food Addiction Informed Treatment™ (FAIT™) Practicum Direct supervision providing and receiving treatment in an online clinical setting. Students practice, experience, and conduct Food Addiction Informed Treatment™ (FAIT™) implementation to initiate clients/patients into a recovery journey to achieve recovery from food as a substance use disorder. Experienced clinical supervision, guidance and intervention is provided during every session. Students apply the process and guide the patient/client through a recovery journey similar to that provided by inpatient residential treatment facilities as well as outpatient rehabilitation programs available for recovery from other addictions, implementing the knowledge gained in the INFACT Certification program. Invited to participate are identified food addicts, those seeking to experience INFACT Food Addiction Informed Treatment™ (FAIT™), INFACT CFAP™ Graduates, INFACT™ Community members and other professionals who serve those who may be suffering from food addiction. Curriculum Addresses Biological Psychological Brain chemisty Understanding food addiction in the addiction framework Understanding food chemistry Stages of Recovery Treatment Withdrawal Relapse Self-care actions Peer Groups Recovery Tools. materials and additional resources Developing a support network for ongoing recovery Takeaways Each student develops a customized abstinence plan with each participant, introducing daily practices, accountability and support with a structured food plan, recovery actions and check-ins.
